Carbon footprint — what can we do to help?
There are a lot of small things we can do and if we all do them we can make a big change…

You can fill it in for every month and find out how much you have reduced your carbon footprint.
Reduce Reuse Recycle
- Fly less
- Don’t leave computers, TVs, mobile phones or stereos on stand by

- Travel by public transport and make sure you walk or cycle whenever possible
- Buy less. Manufacturing things means burning carbon and producing CO2
- Wherever possible, reuse or recycle products

- Wash clothes at 40 degrees rather than 60 degrees
- Try to eat food which is grown locally or in the UK — eating food that comes from the other side of the world means a lot of CO2 will have been produced to get it here
- If you are making a cup of tea, fill the kettle just as much as you need. Kettles take a lot of energy to heat, and a lot of energy means a lot of CO2

- Encourage your school and family to use energy saving lightbulbs
- Explain why you are doing all these things to friends and family — hopefully they will follow your example, reducing CO2 emissions further!
